The Virtu Group CEO named in list of digital and technology innovators.
3 AUG 09:00GMT: This morning Campaign unveiled the Digital Mavericks shortlist for 2017. We are delighted to announce that our esteemed founder and CEO, Tracey Shirtcliff was included.
Campaign Digital Mavericks celebrates women at the forefront of digital and technology innovation. This year’s shortlist features entrepreneurs, brand-side digital marketers as well as agency technology specialists. Women that are setting the digital and tech agenda and paving the way for others.
Now in its third year, Digital Mavericks is more relevant than ever. With the UK’s digital sector growing 50% faster than the economy as a whole it’s key. A recent report by Tech Nation revealed the UK as leading Europe in terms of tech investment. In fact £6.8 billion investment flowed into the UK sector last year compared to £2.4 billion in France – the second highest country.
Unfortunately, the Tech Nation report also found that despite the UK and France having Europe’s greatest proportion of millennials with STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) degrees, there is still a shortfall of Stem graduates across the continent and alarmingly, that men outnumber women by a ratio of three to one within the sector.
This shortlist of 22 women leading the way in digital advertising and marketing technology will be narrowed down to a final list of ten by an expert panel of judges including Lisa Gilbert, chief marketing officer at IBM UK and Ireland.
